Do you care about the problems they can see,
or one you feel that's growing underneath your skin again?
When, everybody's got their own problems to figure out how to lose and how to find themselves some kind of use.
I don't care how it seems, I only care what it is.
Fill the gaps, paint the cracks, smokin' fags around the back,
just so long as nobody can see that..
everything's crumbling down around you.

I'm not gonna believe in something I cannot feel nor do I see a reason why..
I can assume positions I know I can't defend,
or do the work of someone I know I wouldn't want to befriend,
but if you would like to share some time and space with me,
the only thing I ask is that here and now is how we deal,
and while we are at it why don't we try and break the walls,
of pride and pretense and all the things that keep us on our own,
and treat the moment like it is the only one we've got.

We both know that you could have been there if you'd wanted,
and there is always something we can find,
that exists outside of our control,
as an excuse when you just do not want to know.
But that's OK. Who am I to decide what it,
is that you should and shouldn't want to do.
I only wish that you could come clean,
and make a step into the space that lies between..
..you and I, no one will bite,
we just might shed a little light,
on some part of life that we didn't expect,
something apart from me and mine and all that will protect.
All the caution in the world,
won't come close to what you deserve,
and those boys and girls will be women and men.
What will you do then?
Who will you defend?

So let's just go and make ourselves a mess.
We'll try and find something to help us to forget,

find a home..
..a place where it won't live to oppose.
Though I find it all so obscene,
that don't mean,
I'm the one talkin' negative,
but that's just how it feels.
And I don't know where we're going to,
but I know now what I know won't do.
Love must be love,
if not then it's not enough.
Truth can't be true,
dressed up to represent you.
The thought of one man,
can only control his own hands,

but we can get what what we need,
and still have plenty more left over,
if we can both just give over.
We might just have to meet somewhere that,
isn't yours and isn't mine,
every once in a while, drop the armour,
drop the act and the honour.
All that's given away it is not just surrendered.
It's the same as the peace of mind that you remember.
There is only so much I can do looking over,
all the lines you've devised to keep your from mine, safer..
If this is to become a game,
to see who can shout louder,
I won't play that with no one.
Where have we gotten ourselves since,
the week in the sun out there on our own,

or maybe it was November?

Another chapter's end draws nearer, it's that bit clearer,
we're not getting any closer to one another.
All the signs point to more confusion and disillusion,
the truth as elusive as before.
I always get a bit down at Christmas and it's no different,
this year I got the same old blues and indifference,
but there's something from outside the ordinary,
that I cannot quite put my finger on.
Some say there's gonna be another world war and more say that it's already begun and we just don't know what it should be called.
Either way there's something in the air that's designed to scare that,
we can do with what we want to do.
But unless you're on the front line you're wasting your time.
Shouting down into a rabbit hole there's not much to know,
but in this changing mood there's something that we could all bring,
if we decide we've really had enough.
One thing that this year has taught us is that it's not as,
bought and sold as we all thought it was before, now there's no more,
middle ground to keep us safe and placid our actions tacid..
..ly keeping everything the way it's been.
Now the question is 'what can we do for real'?
The question's got to be 'what can we do now for real'?
There's a hole in my kaleidoscope.
I've a feeling I should cut the rope,
tying me to everything I think I know,
in 2017.
There's so many possibilities,
that you could miss with just as much ease,
as you could let them bring you down onto your knees,
in 2017.
